Lunch & Learn: Microsoft Groove--working and collaboration from anywhere

For this week's lunch & learn webinar session Rick Colosimo and Mike Princi, managing directors of ThoughtStorm Strategic Capital (TSC), gave participants insight into their experiences with Microsoft Groove. TSC is a boutique strategic advisory firm which works solely in a distributed fashion that recently included people in three U.S. states and two Persian Gulf countries. Having had to handle these long distance relationships, TSC built a system of interrelated tools that allow for a wide level of collaboration. They have used Groove since well before the Microsoft acquisition both internally and externally, and their presentation and advice were extremely valuable.

Rick and Mike discussed the primary features of MS Groove, how it facilitates internal work and collaboration and how the internal/external, knowledge management/project management features relate to one another. They explained that, despite Microsoft ownership, Groove and Sharepoint remain very different applications, and one of Groove's greatest advantages is its offline access.

Rick also presented various business scenarios in which TSC has used MS Groove, allowing the audience to better understand the application in an applied context and explained the advantages of MS Groove's additional encryption benefits. Ultimately, Rick conveyed to the audience how MS Groove has allowed TSC and their customers to safely collaborate and share much more effectively than ever before.
